The demand for privately rented accommodation seems unrelenting and, as the Rent Check reports, rents are continuing to increase by an average of 2.0% across England and Wales over the last six months. However, Government intervention (buy to let tax relief, stamp duty etc.) and added regulation are squeezing landlords’ returns and matters of compliance are increasing.
